You can use prefixes to provide flexibility to the naming convention for scheduled Snapshot copies. It removes the dependency on using the schedule names in naming scheduled Snapshot copies.
About this task
- A schedule cannot have more than one prefix.
- Prefixes within a policy should be unique.
- You can specify prefixes when you create a Snapshot policy or when you add a schedule to the Snapshot policy.
The following command creates a Snapshot policy "test"
, which contains the schedule named "5min"
having the temp prefix:
cluster1::> volume snapshot policy create -policy test -enabled true
-schedule1 5min -count1 2 -prefix1 temp
The following command adds the "6min"
schedule with the "test"
prefix to the default policy:
cluster1::> volume snapshot policy add-schedule -policy default
-schedule 6min -count 4 -prefix test
