Data ONTAP options for managing system time

You can use the timed options to enable time synchronization and specify the servers to use for time synchronization.

The following table describes the timed options:

This option... Enables you to...
timed.enable Enable time synchronization.
timed.proto Specify the protocol used to synchronize the system time. This option supports only ntp.
timed.servers Specify up to five time servers used by the timed functionality.

Example of system time synchronization

The following example configures the system to use the NTP protocol.
