RAID group configuration

Plan RAID groups carefully to ensure the best performance and availability of data on your storage system.

You can assign more than one RAID group to a single storage system aggregate; in fact, you should do so if the aggregate contains more than 14 disks. This ensures data integrity and availability if multiple disks fail simultaneously within the same aggregate.

The number of disks in each RAID group on an aggregate should be balanced to allow maximum performance.
