Creating a local UNIX group

You can use the vserver services unix-group create command to create UNIX groups that are local to a Vserver. Local UNIX groups are used with local UNIX users.

Step

  1. To create a local UNIX group, enter the following command:
    vserver services unix-group create -vserver virtual_server_name -name group_name -id integer

    -vserver virtual_server_name specifies the Vserver name.

    -name group_name specifies the group name.

    -id integer specifies the group ID.

Example

The following command creates a local group named eng on a Vserver named vs1. The group has the ID 101.

vs1::> vserver services unix-group create -vserver vs1 -name eng -id 101
