Adding an LDAP client configuration

You can use System Manager to add an LDAP client configuration to use the LDAP services. An LDAP server enables you to centrally maintain user information. You must first set up an LDAP client to use LDAP services.

About this task

The LDAP client configuration is view-only at the cluster level. You must add the LDAP client from the Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) level.

  1. Expand the Storage Virtual Machines hierarchy in the left navigation pane.
  2. In the navigation pane, select the SVM, and click Configuration > Services > LDAP Client.
  3. In the LDAP Client window, click Add.
  4. Type the name of the LDAP client.
  5. Add either the Active Directory domain or the Active Directory server.
  6. Click Binding and specify the authentication details.
  7. Click Save and Close.
  8. Verify that the LDAP client you added is displayed in the LDAP Client window.
