Creating initiator groups

You can use System Manager to create an initiator group. Initiator groups enable you to control host access to specific LUNs. You can use port sets to limit which LIFs an initiator can access.

Steps

  1. Expand the Storage Virtual Machines hierarchy in the left navigation pane.
  2. In the navigation pane, select the Storage Virtual Machine (SVM), and click Storage > LUNs.
  3. In the LUNs window, click Initiator Groups, and then click Create.
  4. In the General tab of the Create Initiator Group dialog box, specify the initiator group name, operating system, port set, and supported protocol for the group.
  5. Click Create.
