What schemes are

A scheme is a collection of dictionary entries. OnCommand Workflow Automation (WFA) uses schemes to acquire data relevant to an environment. For example, a vc scheme acquires data relevant to your virtual environment, such as virtual machines, hosts, and datastores.

Schemes are associated with dictionary entries when the dictionary entries are created. Dictionary entries are associated with cache queries, and cache queries include SQL queries.
