Space issues when volume space guarantee is enabled for a destination volume

When volume space guarantee is enabled on a SnapMirror destination volume, if the destination volume is larger than the source volume, the destination volume consumes more space than the source volume. You can reduce the size of the destination volume by using the vol size command.

Before you reduce the size of the destination volume, compare the size of the destination and source volumes by using the vol status -b command. This is because if volume space guarantee is enabled on a volume, space is allocated to that volume based on the size of that volume.

For example, if you create a destination volume that is larger than the source volume or you reduce the size of the source volume after a volume SnapMirror relationship is established, the destination volume is allocated more space than the source volume. In such a scenario, the Vol Size of the destination volume is larger than the FS Size or the size of the file system on the destination volume.
