Resizing a SnapMirror source and destination volume pair for a FlexVol volume

You can increase the size of the source volume for a FlexVol volume. After you increase the size of a source volume and perform a SnapMirror transfer, the size of the destination volume is automatically increased to the same size as that of the source volume, provided the destination aggregate has sufficient space to contain the resized volume.

Steps

  1. To increase the size of the SnapMirror source volume, enter the following command: vol size vol_name size

vol_name is the name of the SnapMirror source volume.

size is the required size of the SnapMirror source volume.

Note: SnapMirror updates the size of the destination volume to match the source in the next SnapMirror transfer.
  2. On the destination system, enter the following command to check the size of the destination volume and the file system: vol status vol_name -b
vol_name is the name of the SnapMirror destination volume.
The size of the destination volume must have increased to the same size as that of the source volume.
