Changing the configuration speed of a stretch MetroCluster configuration

If the distance between nodes in a stretch MetroCluster configuration is greater than the supported default configuration speed, you must change the default configuration speed. If you modified the default configuration speed in a stretch MetroCluster configuration that uses an FC-VI adapter, you can reset the speed to the default configuration speed.

The default maximum speed between nodes in a stretch MetroCluster configuration depends on the speed at which the FC-VI adapter operates (for example, 4 GB or 8 GB). The maximum supported distance is included in the Interoperability Matrix at support.netapp.com.

The procedures for changing the configuration speed of a stretch MetroCluster configuration are the same for MetroCluster configurations with FAS systems and MetroCluster configurations with V-Series systems.
