Configuring shared interfaces during setup

When you set up the storage system, you can assign an IP address to a network interface and assign a partner IP address that the network interface takes over if a failover occurs.

  1. Enter the IP address for the interface that you are configuring:
Please enter the IP address for Network Interface e0 []:nnn.nn.nn.nnn

nnn.nn.nn.nnn is the local address for the node you are configuring.

  2. Enter the network mask, or netmask, for the interface you are configuring, or press Return if the default value is correct:
Please enter the netmask for Network Interface e1 [255.255.0.0]:
  3. Specify that this interface is to take over a partner IP address:
Should interface e1 take over a partner IP address during failover? [n]: y
  4. Enter the IP address or interface name of the partner:
Please enter the IP address or interface name to be taken over by e1 []: :nnn.nn.nn.nnn
Note: If the partner is an interface group, you must use the interface name.
