Configuring a VLAN

After you create a VLAN, you must configure it with an IP address. By using the ifconfig command, you can configure all the parameters for a VLAN interface in the same way that you configure the parameters for a physical interface.

About this task

You can configure the following parameters for a VLAN:

  1. Enter the following command: ifconfig ifname-vlanid IP_address netmask mask
ifname-vlanid is the VLAN interface name.
IP_address is the IP address for this interface.
mask is the network mask for this interface.

Create VLANs with identifiers 1760 on the interface e5a of a storage system by using the following command: vlan create e5a 1760
